FMQ Homework

This is my homework for Carole from Madness and Mess, this is hard! I can do squiggles, daisies, and other fmq designs, but writing - sheesh!  Now that i have embarrassed myself, the others have no excuse!

Crap, crappity, crap, crap, I try to remember all the events going on, but as usual, i forgot FNSI. Crap. But then i remembered its still friday in the good ol US right?
Great, i still have time! I will call this the oz saturday/ us friday night sew in! So if you would like to join in, this is where you need to go Hand Made By Heidi, she has some very nice stuff that goes on over there.
I am in the process of  quilting the border of a quilt which has been on the armchair for only a couple  of months  (really? ), and my daughter wanted to use it the other night so i thought it would be a good time to finish this one and seeing as its winter here now.
And because i never do anything in halves its another humungous quilt, so thats my excuse. I was actually in my kinda local quilt store (40km's away) on friday doing some of the whoops a daisies, yes thats what one of the girls called them ! I'm still learning!

I hope to finish this over the weekend, but i'm probably kidding myself there, hope you have a great weekend.
Also hope no one was offended by the last quite rude links to  Dr G, but you gotta admit its funny !

It takes very little to amuse me but a post by Carol at Madness and Mess got me dreaming of Colin Firth, so very little sewing or useful  moments of my time has been going on !

ok I was trying to be clever like di but it didnt work out! So here's my list

1. Have fun that's what holidays are about
2. Keep a sense of humour, it will keep you sane too!
3. Be prepared to go off the beaten track to see something special
4. Have respect for others
5. Try and learn a little of the local language, it helps and can create some laughs!
6. Try not to walk around with your jaw hanging open at wonderous places!
7. Do  research  where you are going before you get there, it saves time and money, and sanity!
8. Take the time to smell the roses
9. Take a warm coat, t-shirt and jeans, you will be warm/ cool and practical
10. Take loads of photos and make sure your 14yr old hasnt wandered  off into the midst of a huge crowd in a foreign city with no cell ph!

Hello and Happy Thursday sweet friends!!
First I have to thank you for your super kind comments, I have changed my comment form now so no more problems I hope!
I found these on the net, they are quite amazing! They actually they are quite large - pods, the latest design for Dedon. They can stand alone or be hung in a tree, mind you it would have to be a strong one, check out the size!

Perhaps they come in different sizes, otherwise the poor tree might not survive!

They look like the perfect place to hide with a good book on a warm afternoon, perhaps i could fit one beside the pool!

Its been a hectic week, at work most of it, cant wait to get the craft mojo happening again, just a little weary right now, but I love my work, i would be lost without it and miserable, there are  many lovely lovely people that come through our little unit, so i consider myself  very fortunate, even though i am usually exhausted by the end of the week! Hope you are all well, and happy, and kiss your loved ones and tell them you love them. :)

C'est Tre Chic ! or another silly tourist in Paris

Well its been a while, but  i thought i would post about the Paris leg of our euro trip.
We left London wishing we could spend more time there, it is a fab city with so much to see and do, but we got on the eurostar excited to be heading for Paris. We managed to get through customs after a officer insisted on emptying the girls bag, he was only trying to perv im sure, but he was nice, so no dramas except the girl was embarrassed when all her personal things were there for all to see! The journey is short by Aussie standards, only 2 hours to the centre of Paris, same time as from my house to Brisbane! The channel crossing was over in a flash, i didnt even realise we were in France until i saw the signs not in english! Travel guide for dummies is what i need! I managed to ask for  my Paris Visite card and museum pass all in french, the counter attendant was so lovely he smiled and replied in english! He was very helpful and pointed me in the right direction for the metro line i needed. It was the last time i used it, the metro was a navigational nightmare! Anyway we were off to a good start. Our hotel was very close to the St Michel subway, which is as close to the centre of the city as you can get on the left side of the river, it was fabulous. We dumped our things and headed off to explore, we were so excited we forgot the camera and went back for it!

The Sacre Cour in Montemarte, the weather was very warm for early spring in Paris so all the flowers were already out, which was lucky for us!

A Paris Greeter took us to this garden walkway created from a disused railway line, it was beautiful,  you would never know about this unless a local showed you. She was very nice and showed us some very interesting things about the archiitecture and history of Paris.

The Luxembourg Gardens were gorgeous, it was a bit cooler this day but still so pretty.

 

And Le Tour Eiffel of course! 

There were so many things to show you but that would have made an epic post, we went to the louvre which has to be the worlds most amazing gallery, the paintings are truly incredible, we spent two half days there alone!
